Silkwave Clarity
Last Updated: September 13, 2026
Welcome to Silkwave Clarity. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our macOS application ("App"). Our core principle is simple: Silkwave Clarity cleans up the audio your Mac is playing, on your Mac, as it plays. It never records, stores, or transmits that audio.
Information We Do Not Collect
We (Silkwave developers) do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information to our own servers. This includes:
- Your name, email address, or any other personal identifiers.
- The audio your Mac plays, or any recording of it.
- Which apps you listen to, or when you use the App.
The App contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking code, and does not require an account. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your Mac's settings, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports and usage statistics, which are governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Device Permissions
To provide its core functionality, Silkwave Clarity requests one permission. You can revoke it at any time in System Settings under Privacy & Security.
- System Audio Recording: Used solely to capture the audio other apps on your Mac are playing, so it can be cleaned up and played back to you in real time. macOS calls this permission "recording", but the App does not save any audio. It is only active while Voice Isolation is switched on.
The App does not use your microphone or camera, and does not capture the contents of your screen.
How Your Audio Is Handled
- On-Device Processing: While Voice Isolation is on, the audio your Mac is playing is passed through a speech enhancement model (DeepFilterNet3) that is bundled with the App and runs locally. The cleaned audio is played straight back to your current output device. Audio is held in memory only for the fraction of a second it takes to process, and is never written to disk.
- No Network Access: The App runs in the macOS App Sandbox with network access disabled, so it cannot send your audio, or anything else, over the internet.
- Original Audio: While Voice Isolation is on, macOS mutes the original audio of the apps being captured, so you hear only the cleaned version. Switching Voice Isolation off, pausing it, or quitting the App returns your Mac's audio to normal.
Data Storage
The only information the App stores is your Voice Isolation strength setting, saved in the App's preferences on your Mac so it is remembered the next time you open the App. If you delete the App, this setting is removed with it.
Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for all ages. It does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
