Permissions & Setup
What Silkwave Video asks for, and why.
Importing and transcribing need no permissions. Only the AI features do.
Installing
Open the .dmg and drag Silkwave Video to Applications. The app is signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarized, so it opens without a Gatekeeper warning.
Shortcuts Events
The AI features work by running a macOS Shortcut, and macOS requires permission before one app may run another's shortcuts. The first time you use an AI feature, choose OK at the prompt.
To grant it later: System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Automation ▸ Silkwave Video, then enable Shortcuts Events.
The Shortcut
The AI features also need the Silkwave Video AI shortcut installed. Settings ▸ AI Integration Shortcut walks through it - the file ships with the app, so there is nothing to download. See AI Summarization.
Not Required
No microphone access, no account, no API keys.
