Managing Languages
Install and manage language packs for on-device transcription.
Before you can transcribe audio in a specific language, you need to ensure that the language pack is installed on your device. Silkwave Voice uses Apple's on-device speech-to-text models for transcription, which requires language-specific models to be downloaded.
Installing Language Packs
- Open Silkwave Voice and go to Settings.
- Select Transcription Languages from the sidebar.
- You will see a table of supported languages with their Status and Actions.
- Installed: The language is ready to use.
- Not Installed: Click the download icon in the Actions column to install the language pack.
macOS allows up to 5 installed languages and may require Wi-Fi to download them. Language packs are downloaded directly from Apple and stored on your device.
